Newest member of a Galatasaray-fan family: Umut Halil Icardi
The second baby of Ali and Zehra Ay, a couple living in Mersin, was named "Umut Halil Icardi" and was born on the same day as Fatih Terim.

A Galatasaray-fan family in Mersin has named their newborn baby 'Umut Halil Icardi' in honor of the Argentine star Mauro Icardi. The baby of Ali and Zehra Ay, who live in the Köseçobanlı neighborhood of the Gülnar district, was born on September 4, the same birthday as Fatih Terim, the legendary manager nicknamed 'The Emperor' who served Galatasaray for many years.
The family, passionate about Galatasaray, decided to give their second child the name of Icardi, who plays for the yellow-red club. Father Ali Ay applied to the Provincial Population Directorate and had his baby's name registered as "Umut Halil Icardi" on his ID card. The Ay family hopes to watch a Galatasaray match at RAMS Park with their baby and meet the Argentine star.
'THEY USED TO CALL ME JARDEL OF GÜLNAR IN MY CHILDHOOD'
Explaining that they received surprising reactions from those around them due to the name he gave his son, Ay said:
"We always watch the matches together as a family. My son is a fanatical Galatasaray supporter. In my childhood, they used to call me 'Jardel of Gülnar'. My son Kıvanç had a big influence on us choosing this name. He really wanted us to name him Icardi. Because I am a Galatasaray lover, I gave my son Icardi's name. I hope he becomes a star footballer like Icardi. I hope my son reaches great heights and gets to kiss the hand of Fatih (Terim) Hoca."
Mother Zehra Ay also stated that she is experiencing the joy of holding her second child, saying, "My husband and my son are Galatasaray lovers. We are all fans of Icardi. That's why we decided to name him Icardi."
