No candidates emerge for Sivasspor again

Sivasspor had been left under the management of the Board of Trustees following the ordinary general assembly held on May 19, 2026, due to the lack of any presidential candidates.

The general assembly, which was postponed by the Board of Trustees first to June 13 and then to June 22 to determine the club's new management, was held today at the Sivas Chamber of Commerce and Industry Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Board of Trustees President Ali Yavuz and members Kemal Çağlayan, Ali İzgi, and Cafer Kaplan.

However, no one came forward as a candidate for the Sivasspor presidency at the congress either. As no results could be achieved at the general assembly due to the lack of candidates, it was learned that the board of trustees will hold a meeting with Sivas Governor Yılmaz Şimşek tomorrow.

Yavuz: "We have completed the process as the Board of Trustees"

Speaking at the general assembly, Sivasspor Board of Trustees President Ali Yavuz said, "We have conducted the necessary meetings over the past month. We managed the process with many business people, primarily our esteemed governor and our mayor. There were those who wanted to be presidential candidates. They have not yet been able to reach a decision, either because they could not form their management lists or due to their own business affairs. The word 'trustee' (kayyum) is being used for Sivasspor. There is no such thing. We have completed the process today. Starting tomorrow, we will meet with our governor and mayor to hand over Sivasspor to its new management."

Meanwhile, Sivas Governor Yılmaz Şimşek, Sivas Mayor Adem Uzun, provincial protocol members, and delegates attended the congress.
