Official statement from Galatasaray regarding the Victor Osimhen transfer
Galatasaray has announced that it has begun official negotiations to sign Napoli's world-class star Victor Osimhen, who has a current market value of 100 million Euros.

After Mauro Icardi's injury, Galatasaray immediately began searching for a striker and turned its route toward Victor Osimhen, who plays for Napoli. Seeing an opportunity in the situation of the Nigerian star, who was excluded from the squad due to problems with the Italian club, the Yellow-Reds took immediate action.
Galatasaray, which offered to loan the player from the Italian club on the condition of covering Osimhen's 11 million Euro salary, received a positive response. Following this, Galatasaray executive İbrahim Hatipoğlu and football director Cenk Ergün traveled to Naples to finalize the transfer.
The Italian press reported that Osimhen has also accepted Galatasaray's offer and that only the wet signatures and medical examinations remain. The player will arrive in Turkey shortly.
Leading British broadcaster Sky Sport also announced Victor Osimhen's transfer to Galatasaray as a "flash" development.

Regarding the transfer in question, the club stated: "Official negotiations have begun with professional footballer Victor James Osimhen and his club SSCN Napoli SPA regarding his temporary transfer."
Osimhen, whose current market value is listed at 100 million euros, has a contract with Napoli that runs until 2026. The 25-year-old footballer, who has been playing for Napoli since 2020, has scored 76 goals and provided 18 assists in 133 matches for the Italian team.
WHY WAS OSIMHEN EXCLUDED FROM THE SQUAD?
Victor Osimhen wanted to transfer to Paris Saint-Germain throughout the summer transfer window, but the clubs could not reach an agreement.
Later, Chelsea reached an agreement with Napoli regarding Osimhen's transfer, but this time the Nigerian player refused to go to Chelsea.
Al-Ahli, one of the prominent clubs in Saudi Arabia, where the transfer window is still open, could not find common ground with Napoli.
Following all these developments, Napoli manager Antonio Conte signed Lukaku, with whom he had previously worked at Chelsea and Inter, and excluded Osimhen from the squad.
