Galatasaray came from 1-0 down to defeat Gençlerbirliği 3-2 in the 13th week of the Trendyol Süper Lig. Icardi opened the scoring for the Lions, while İlkay Gündoğan scored Galatasaray's final goal.

With this result, the Lions have boosted their morale ahead of the Fenerbahçe derby to be played on December 1.

Reacting to the controversial positions during the match, Okan Buruk stated that VAR should intervene in every position without looking at the jersey color.

Making statements after the match, Okan Buruk said the following:

"Every victory is a joy. You are happy at the end of the match, but the feeling is even greater when you win without losing any players. We started unluckily.

In terms of play, there were shots that hit the post. We could have clearly and comfortably gone into halftime leading 3-0. The goal we conceded from a set piece... We fell 1-0 behind.

At halftime, I said this: we are playing comfortably, we are creating chances, and it was clear that if we stayed calm, we would score and get the result. In the second half, that score came. The red card... Whether it was the ball or the opponent's thing, that will be interpreted better. There were other positions where VAR did not intervene. I wish they would intervene in all of them without looking at the jersey color; it would be very good."
