Okan Buruk: We don't know exactly what we will face

Galatasaray, the league champion of the 2022/23 season, and Fenerbahçe, which added the Turkish Cup to its trophy cabinet, will play in the Super Cup final.

Fenerbahçe will take the field for the Super Cup match with its U19 team.

Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk made statements before the match.

In his statement, Okan Buruk said; "We are happy to be here. The city of Urfa has embraced us. We saw how excited they are. It would have been much better for both teams to be here together. The city of Urfa longs for big teams. We are here to do our job. We don't know exactly what will happen tomorrow, but we will do our part. We will take the field tomorrow and wait."

Continuing his remarks, the Galatasaray head coach said; "We are focused on our own work. We are training and waiting for tomorrow. We are waiting because we don't know how our opponent will come or how they will take the field. We would have loved to play the match against Fenerbahçe. We will prepare for the match, take the field, and wait. It is difficult for me to say anything. We don't know what will happen either. All we know is that Fenerbahçe will come here tomorrow, but we don't know which players they will bring. We have united here with the people of Urfa and those who came from the surrounding provinces."

Before the match, Buruk stated; "The more we lower the tension, the better. We will do whatever we can to ensure this."

Speaking at the press conference, Okan Buruk said; "It is a very meaningful organization. A match where all proceeds will be shared with earthquake survivors. As the Galatasaray team, we are ready to do our part. Even if we don't know what will happen with the match, we are ready for the encounter. We want to celebrate with our fans."

Continuing his statement, Okan Buruk said; "I wish we could have posed together here in a friendly manner. There is a need for the tension in Turkish football to decrease. As Galatasaray, we are ready to do our part. An earthquake happened just last year. We all stood in unity. May the winner be Turkish football; may it be Turkey."

The Galatasaray head coach said; "We continued according to our program. We came here with our full squad. We will be on the field tomorrow. Whatever we face, we will go out to do our job. It is not very important to us which opponent we face. We don't know who the opponent will field. We can talk about that after the match."
