Olcay Şahan's new destination has been announced!

Altınordu, one of the TFF 2nd League teams, has announced that Olcay Şahan has been appointed as their new head coach.

It has been announced that Olcay Şahan has been appointed as the head coach of Altınordu, one of the TFF 2nd League teams. The İzmir-based club, which parted ways with head coach Atilla Küçüktaka at the end of the season, announced that they have signed an official contract with Olcay Şahan.

President Seyit Mehmet Özkan, as well as A-Team Sporting Director Murat Korkmaz and Corporate Communications Director Can Erbesler, were present at the signing ceremony held at the Metin Oktay Campus.

Altınordu's new head coach Olcay Şahan spoke as follows:

“I would like to thank our president for trusting me. Altınordu has gone through a difficult process. They were relegated from the 1st League, where they competed for many years, to the 2nd League. In the meetings I had with our president, we discussed that we definitely want to take this team to where it belongs, to the league above. As our president has said, our goal is to play with our own players up to the Süper Lig, with players raised within our own system, and then send many of them to Europe. During the years I played football, I always valued young players. The only reason I played football in the 2nd League for the last two seasons is that I have seen everything from the very bottom to the very top in my football life, both in Turkey and in Germany. The moment I started thinking about coaching, I decided: I need to play in the 2nd League. If I hadn't played in the 2nd League, I would have said, 'I hope the days will come when I will coach in the Süper Lig.' I wouldn't have bothered with a player from the 2nd League, I wouldn't have looked for one, I would have asked, 'What is there?' After playing in the 2nd League here, I saw that there are players in this league with the potential to go to the Süper Lig and to Europe. In this regard, Altınordu is already number one. Our club has sent many players raised within its own system abroad. I made this choice by supporting young people because I have come to this point by fighting for everything with this excitement and desire. We didn't talk much about money. I am hungry for success. Last season at Ankaraspor, I valued young people in the same way. I want to achieve the goal here. We have facilities that are among the few in Europe. The potential here is not this league; this team definitely needs to be in a higher league. I believe in myself and I trust myself. We will be successful with this team.”
