Panathinaikos, managed by Fatih Terim, advances in the Greek Cup
Panathinaikos, coached by Fatih Terim, advanced to the quarterfinals of the Greek Cup after defeating Olympiakos 7-6 on penalties in the away leg of the Round of 16, following a 1-1 draw in the first leg.

The match, played at Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium, ended in a goalless draw after 90 minutes.
Samet Akaydin, who was recently signed by Panathinaikos from Fenerbahçe, entered the game in the 106th minute, replacing forward Sporar, who was injured. With no other attacking players available for Panathinaikos due to injuries, Samet Akaydin played in the forward position for the remainder of the match.
PENALTY SHOOTOUT SECURES THE ROUND
As neither side could score during the two halves of extra time, the match went to a penalty shootout. For Panathinaikos, Mladenovic, and for Olympiakos, Carvalho and Camara, were the players who failed to convert their penalties.
By winning the penalty shootout 7-6, the green-and-white team eliminated their arch-rivals from the cup and secured their ticket to the quarterfinals.
