The 3rd ordinary divan board meeting of Beşiktaş Club for 2024 will be held on Friday, March 1, at the ICEC Istanbul Lütfi Kırdar Congress and Exhibition Center. The meeting will address the activities of the divan presidency board, the audit committee report, and the work of the board of directors. Prior to the meeting, some congress members prepared a petition for the expulsion of former president Hasan Arat from the club and submitted it to club officials.
Hasan Arat's expulsion process became a central topic before the meeting. The petitions signed by the congress members were quickly forwarded to the Disciplinary Board by the board of directors. The board will initiate the defense process following its review.
Beşiktaş Disciplinary Board Chairman Ahmet Akpınar made the following statement regarding the matter:
''The petitions written with the request for the permanent expulsion of former president Hasan Arat from the club have been delivered to our board by the management. Following our reviews, we will request their defenses and initiate the necessary procedures.''
(Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı previously stated in an announcement that he would take the entire former administration to court)
WHAT ARE THE ALLEGATIONS AGAINST HASAN ARAT?
Samet Aybaba, who resigned from his position as General Coordinator of Football Teams at Beşiktaş, made significant allegations regarding transfer processes and internal club management during a press conference. Aybaba brought up allegations of commission offers directed at former president Hasan Arat.
Addressing irregularities during transfer periods, Aybaba stated:
''During the 'Feda' (sacrifice) period, my lawyer told me, 'Let me give you a commission, and you demand the money you are owed.' However, I saw this as dishonorable and did not accept it." Stating that he knew Brad Friedel received a 2.5 percent commission on some sales, Aybaba added, "Hasan Arat also offered me a commission on player sales. There are witnesses to this.''
Criticizing Hasan Arat, Aybaba added the following:
'I believe that football intelligence was not utilized correctly within the club. Hasan Arat said he handed me the keys to the club, but things went downhill due to the wrong moves of some names in the management.'
On the other hand, Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı alleged that the former administration intentionally caused financial loss to the club. While noting that he would take the claim to court, Adalı accused Hasan Arat of working against the club.
No legal process has been initiated against Hasan Arat by the Beşiktaş club or Adalı. Arat has not yet made a statement regarding the latest allegations and the expulsion petition.
