The Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) has handed a one-match suspension to two Galatasaray players, Kerem Demirbay and Barış Alper Yılmaz, due to their unsportsmanlike conduct during the derby match against Fenerbahçe. Both players were also fined 58,500 TL.
The official statement from the PFDK is as follows:
It has been decided that GALATASARAY A.Ş. athlete KEREM DEMİRBAY shall be suspended for 1 OFFICIAL MATCH and fined 58,500 TL in accordance with Articles 36/1-a and 35/4 of the Football Disciplinary Instructions (FDT) due to his unsportsmanlike conduct toward an opposing team athlete, and that GALATASARAY A.Ş. athlete BARIŞ Alper Yılmaz shall be suspended for 1 OFFICIAL MATCH and fined 58,500 TL in accordance with Articles 36/1-a and 35/4 of the FDT due to his unsportsmanlike conduct toward a member of the opposing team.
This decision will impact Galatasaray's squad planning for upcoming matches. It was stated that both players will be unable to play in the next official match due to their suspensions.
