Following the detention of Fenerbahçe President Sadettin Saran as part of a drug investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the club's management held an emergency meeting.
At the meeting held at the club headquarters, the roadmap to be followed in the event of an arrest warrant being issued for Saran was discussed. In this context, it was decided that Fenerbahçe Vice President Murat Salar would assume the presidential duties in the event of a possible arrest.

Making a statement after the meeting, Fenerbahçe Board Member Ertan Torunoğulları stated that the management is closely following the process and used the following expressions:
“As the board of directors, we held our meeting here. We are all at our posts. Everything, including transfers, is proceeding in an orderly fashion. As the management, we will be at Çağlayan at 09:00 in the morning.
As all board members, we are at our posts. We will work even harder. It is our President's instruction: let us remain calm and follow the process. Our lawyers are providing us with the necessary information, and we will share it. We will return from Çağlayan happily in the morning.”
