It was announced that Fatih Özkan, who was taken into custody after the incident, did not have an official position in the Göztepe management and was only present at the stadium as an official.
The suspect had been placed under house arrest following the incident.

In the case heard at the İzmir 3rd Criminal Court of First Instance, the defendant Fatih Özkan was sentenced to 7 months and 15 days in prison.
