Prison sentence for GFB stand leader Cem Gölbaşı

Genç Fenerbahçeliler stand leader Cem Gölbaşı has been sentenced to prison by the court due to assault and abduction incidents shared on social media. Other defendants also received various prison sentences and judicial control measures.

In an incident that occurred in Bağcılar, Istanbul, on November 4, 2024, Genç Fenerbahçeliler stand leader Cem Gölbaşı assaulted B.İ., whom he claimed had mocked him, along with individuals accompanying him. Gölbaşı forced the victim to wear a wig and apologize, while the events were recorded on video and shared on social media.

Following the investigation launched upon B.İ.'s complaint, Cem Gölbaşı, İsmail Atan, Süleyman Şahin, Şahin Beyazyıldız, and Umut Özaydın were arrested. Suspects Hasan Mert Şahin and Yunus Akbalık were released under judicial control conditions.

COURT ANNOUNCES VERDICT

The verdict regarding the defendants was delivered at the hearing held at the Bakırköy 22nd High Criminal Court.

Cem Gölbaşı was sentenced to 4 years, 4 months, and 15 days in prison for the crime of 'Plunder in the Workplace with More Than One Person,' 1 year and 8 months for 'Deprivation of Liberty,' and 10 months for 'Unlawfully Obtaining or Disseminating Personal Data.'

The other defendants, İsmail Atan, Süleyman Şahin, and Umut Özaydın, received prison sentences of varying lengths for the same crimes. For defendant Şahin Beyazyıldız, the court decided to 'Defer the Announcement of the Verdict' on the grounds that he had 'no prior conviction for an intentional crime.'

TRAVEL BAN AND JUDICIAL CONTROL

As part of the court's decision, a travel ban and judicial control measures were imposed on all defendants.
