The 51st UEFA Süper Cup in football will be decided in a match between Paris Saint-Germain and Aston Villa. Champions League titleholders PSG and UEFA Europa League winners Aston Villa will face off tomorrow evening at the stadium of the same name in the Austrian city of Salzburg.

The match will kick off at 22:00 TSI. The game will be officiated by Somali referee Omar Abdulkadir Artan. It had been reported that Artan would not be able to serve in the 2026 FIFA World Cup because he was denied entry to the USA.

PSG, which won the UEFA Süper Cup last year, and Aston Villa, which took the trophy home in 1982, are both aiming for their second title in the competition. Aston Villa reached the trophy by defeating Barcelona in 1982.

REAL MADRID AT THE TOP OF THE CUP'S HISTORY

The most successful club in the history of the UEFA Süper Cup is Real Madrid with 6 titles. The Spanish side is followed by Barcelona and Milan with 5 victories each. Liverpool has won the cup 4 times, while Atletico Madrid has won it 3 times.

In recent years, the dominance of Spanish teams in the cup has been notable. Spanish teams have reached the happy ending in 11 of the last 17 finals. In total, Spanish representatives have achieved 17 championships, English teams 10, and Italian clubs 9.

From Turkey, Galatasaray went down in history as the team that won the UEFA Süper Cup in 2000. The yellow-reds brought the cup to Turkey by defeating Real Madrid 2-1 with a "golden goal" by Mario Jardel in a match that ended 1-1 in regular time.

The UEFA Süper Cup has been on the official schedule since 1973. To date, 26 different clubs from 13 countries have experienced the joy of winning the championship in the competition.
