Racism penalty for Real Madrid

UEFA has imposed a 15,000 Euro fine on the Spanish club Real Madrid due to the "racist behavior" of its fans.

In a statement released by UEFA, it was noted that the club was penalized due to the "racist and discriminatory behavior" of its supporters during the Champions League round of 16 play-off second-leg match against Benfica.

The statement also added that Real Madrid has been given a partial stadium closure penalty, but that the sentence has been suspended for a one-year probationary period starting from the date of the decision.
