Ederson, who made close contact with referee Yasin Kol to protest during the first half of the match, delayed taking his place in goal following a penalty decision in the second half. After continuing this behavior despite warnings, he was sent off after receiving a second yellow card.
It was stated that he continued his verbal reaction toward referee Kol even after the dismissal decision. As eyes turned to the referee's report after the match, it was learned that Kol had submitted his report to the Turkish Football Federation.
According to information in Türkiye Gazetesi, the report states that Ederson insisted on not leaving the pitch after the red card and approached the referee to swear at him twice.
If these actions are evaluated under Article 41 of the Football Disciplinary Instructions, a penalty of 3 to 7 matches is stipulated if directed at a match official.
On the other hand, it was also reflected in the representative's report that Ederson hit the VAR monitor while heading to the locker room and damaged the illuminated sign in the corridor. It is stated that these behaviors require a sanction of 1 to 3 matches under Article 36.
When all these points and the red card suspension are evaluated together, it is stated that the Brazilian goalkeeper could receive a total ban of at least 5 matches.
