Related families clash in Şırnak: 8 injured, 17 detained

In the Cizre district of Şırnak, a fight involving stones, sticks, and knives broke out between two related families with a history of hostility, turning the area into a scene resembling a battlefield. In the incident, 8 people were injured and taken to the hospital, while 17 individuals identified as being involved in the brawl were detained by police teams.

The tension that began in the middle of the street between two related groups in Cizre turned into a bloody fight. The argument, which ignited for an unknown reason, escalated as the parties attacked each other with stones, sticks, and knives.

The incident occurred on Ziraat Street in Cizre's Cudi neighborhood. Members of the two families, who were known to have prior hostility, encountered each other on the street. The tension, which started as a verbal argument, soon turned into a fight. Stones, sticks, and knives flew through the air during the brawl, which was watched with fearful eyes by local residents.

''POLICE INTERVENED, THE INJURED WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL''

Upon reports from neighborhood residents, numerous police and 112 Emergency Health teams were dispatched to the area. With the intense intervention of the police teams arriving at the scene, the parties were calmed with difficulty and the fight was brought to an end.

The 8 people who were injured by blows to various parts of their bodies and knife wounds were taken to Cizre State Hospital by ambulances after receiving initial medical intervention from health teams and were placed under treatment.

''17 PEOPLE TAKEN TO THE POLICE STATION''

Following the fight, police teams, who took extensive security measures on the street, apprehended and detained 17 suspects identified as having been involved in the incident and disturbing the peace. While the suspects were taken to the police station to have their statements taken, a wide-ranging investigation into the incident has been launched.
