It has been reported that the release request of a defendant involved in the incidents in the stands during the TFF 1st League match played between Göztepe and Altay in the 2022-2023 season has been denied. In the hearing held at the İzmir 3rd High Criminal Court, the court denied the release request of the detained defendant F.E. Despite the request from F.E.'s lawyer, the court decided to continue the defendant's detention and ordered the completion of missing documents.
During the hearing, the detained defendant F.E. stated that he had suffered grievances due to the incident and requested his release. However, the court ruled for the continuation of his detention and adjourned the hearing for the completion of missing documents.
23 PEOPLE HAD BEEN DETAINED
Following the arrest of F.E., who fired a flare from the Altay fans' section into the Göztepe stands at Gürsel Aksel Stadium, the incidents escalated, the match was stopped, and the players went to the locker rooms. After the events, one person was injured, and 23 people were detained due to the flare thrown into the stands. While the court process continues, a lawsuit was also filed against Mehmet Nihat A., who was among those involved in the incidents, on charges of "attempted intentional homicide" and "violation of the Law on the Prevention of Violence and Disorder in Sports."
