National football player İrfan Can Kahveci stated that after the 2-2 draw against Spain, they are a team capable of beating any of their potential opponents in the 2026 FIFA World Cup play-offs. Speaking to members of the press after the match, national football player İrfan Can Kahveci said, "I am very proud and very happy to be a part of this team. Everyone on the team is giving their all on the pitch to reach the World Cup. I think we showed today how we can challenge even the best teams in the world. Hopefully, we will show this in the play-offs in March."

Stating that they had spoken with the Turkish National Football Team Head Coach Vincenzo Montella before coming to the national team camp, the 30-year-old player said, "We had a conversation with our coach beforehand, and I did extra work within the program given to me. Our coach had told me before I came to the camp. He said, 'I will call you because of your character, your footballing ability, and the contributions you have made to this team; I will look at your condition during training.'
