Former Trabzonspor president Sadri Şener has responded to the statements made by Aziz Yıldırım. Şener said, "Aziz Yıldırım is making these statements to avoid being forgotten."
Following the eventful Trabzonspor - Fenerbahçe match, the tension between the two communities continues to rise.
AKP Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Ahmet Metin Genç targeted Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş in his statement regarding the events that have occupied Turkey's agenda.
Referring to the July 3 process, Genç stated, "While Beşiktaş and Fenerbahçe are still listed as match-fixing clubs on the UEFA website, these two clubs are shamelessly trying to play the 2011 Super Cup. Are you mocking our intelligence?"
Responding to Genç's statements, former Fenerbahçe president Aziz Yıldırım said, "Politicians who wag their fingers at Fenerbahçe, who hope for help from the FETÖ conspiracy, and who cling to the match-fixing conspiracy should know that they have entered the same path as those who shed the blood of the nation on July 15, who turned the weapons entrusted to them on behalf of the nation against their own people, the TBMM (Grand National Assembly of Turkey) representing them, and the President."
A response to Yıldırım's harsh statement came from former Trabzonspor president Sadri Şener.
Speaking to Kuzey Ekspres Newspaper, Şener invited Yıldırım to confess the truth.
"MY LAWYER IS THE TEACHER OF LAWYERS"
Responding to the allegation that he worked with FETÖ lawyers and was saved by 'himmet' (charity) money, Sadri Şener said, "This is impossible; my lawyer, Prof. Dr. Selami Mahmutoğlu, is a faculty member at Istanbul University and is the teacher of all lawyers. Secondly, you know my family; is it possible for me to receive help from or be with FETÖ members? He should drop these things."
"LET HIM SAY WE DID THIS"
Inviting Aziz Yıldırım to tell the truth, Şener said, "I think he should come out properly and say, 'We did this, but we also deceived justice,' and that should be the end of it. I am not the one saying they committed match-fixing; their own executives said it in court, in my office. They said, 'Mr. President, we did this, don't come after us.'"
"DEMİRÖREN ALSO SAID THERE WAS MATCH-FIXING"
Stating that Aziz Yıldırım is making these statements to avoid being forgotten, Şener concluded his words as follows;
"Even Yıldırım Demirören told me, 'This is match-fixing.' Then things changed, Mehmet Ali came, and the matter was prolonged and diluted. Can there be clearer match-fixing than this? Forget that matter. It is as clear as two plus two equals four. Physically, the cup might be with them, but spiritually it is in our museum. Aziz Yıldırım is making these statements to avoid being forgotten."
