Manager Rıza Çalımbay made statements about his Beşiktaş tenure on Kontraspor.

Here are Rıza Çalımbay's statements:

"When we went to Beşiktaş, we went to a place in crisis. There was a crisis in the team. I had gone to Beşiktaş before, and there was a crisis then too. At that time, because we are Beşiktaş fans, we didn't say anything; we just went and did our duty. The first time, I was very good. We went undefeated, we only lost to Galatasaray. I had gone in the second half of the league and we finished the second half of the league as leaders. This season, of course, I didn't understand what happened either. It was a day I was very saddened by and will never forget. I didn't go there for money. They called me and I went. When I went there, things turned into something else. Anything can happen in football, but there are things there that hurt and saddened me deeply. Beşiktaş, unlike other teams, does not value people who have their own values. They do not stand behind them."

"IT DID NOT SUIT THE BEŞİKTAŞ COMMUNITY"

"It did not suit the Beşiktaş community. Whether it was me or someone else, it wouldn't suit anyone. Such behavior should not have happened. If you promise that we will continue with Beşiktaş people, you have to keep it. Before I left, we played against Lugano, we won, and we came back. The thing that saddened me the most is that they sent me a notice while I was at the match."

"YOU HAVE TO BE PATIENT WITH A COACH"

"If you go to a team, you cannot bring a team to the level you want in 15 days. When we went to Beşiktaş and went out for the first training session, there were over 10 injured players. We struggled a lot with them. If you don't give us time and don't have patience, it won't work. You need to be patient with a coach. There is a colleague who came after me. He stayed longer than me. If I could have caught that time, if they had kept their promise, we could have done very beautiful things there. We could have made transfers. We tried to do the best we could with the players we had."

SAMET AYBABA'S WORDS

Samet Aybaba had implied that the team was 'rotten'. What do you say to that?

"It hurt me. I also worked with that team. A player can play poorly, they might not be having a good day. Instead of calling that player rotten, you can say they are not ready. The word 'rotten' is a bit harsh."

MESSAGE TO THE FANS

Do you have a message for the fans?

"Of course, unity and solidarity are the most important things. They need to support the players. They need to provide confidence."

"I MISS MANAGING A TEAM"

"I miss managing a team. I am more ambitious than before. I want to work as soon as possible. They came from Azerbaijan, it was discussed but it didn't materialize. They came from Iran, we talked. In the offer from Iran, everything was clear, but I didn't want to go there either."
