The Cristiano Ronaldo crisis is growing within the Portuguese National Team. Ronaldo, who started on the bench in Portugal's 2-1 victory over Norway in the UEFA Nations League and was not brought into the game despite warming up in the second half, has allegedly left the national team camp ahead of the Denmark match.

According to reports, after arriving in Copenhagen with the rest of the team, Ronaldo attended head coach Jorge Jesus's press conference. It is stated that the star footballer decided to leave the camp following Jesus's remarks.

In the press conference, Jorge Jesus stated that Ronaldo did not refuse to train and had completed the planned work in the gym and on the pitch. The Portuguese coach noted that he had informed the player in advance that he might not get playing time in the match, stating, "No player can change my mind. Neither him nor anyone else."

According to a report in Marca, Ronaldo went to his hotel room, packed his bags, and requested that his private jet in Madrid fly to Copenhagen. It was reported that the plane landed in the Danish capital at approximately 22:15 local time and took off for Madrid at 23:35. It is alleged that Jorge Jesus and federation president Pedro Proença tried to persuade Ronaldo but were unsuccessful.

As reported by the Portuguese press outlet Correio, the allegation of leaving the national team camp without permission could trigger a disciplinary process for Ronaldo. According to the Portuguese Football Federation's regulations, footballers who do not attend national team activities without an excuse or who abandon these activities can be punished with a suspension of 1 to 6 months.

The regulations also stipulate a fine for professional footballers. It is stated that the fine in question is between 5 and 10 UC, which corresponds to approximately 500 to 1,000 euros based on the coefficient unit.

Following these events, some sources have claimed that the 41-year-old Ronaldo might end his Portugal National Team career. However, no official statement has been made by Ronaldo or the Portuguese Football Federation in this regard.
