As tensions rose when Merih Demiral first walked toward Cristiano Ronaldo and then toward Kingsley Coman, officials intervened to calm the situation.

Following the events, Demiral showed his Asian Champions League medal to the Al Nassr stands. This gesture drew a reaction from the crowd.


Speaking to reporters at the stadium exit, Demiral said, "Al Nassr needs the referee to win a trophy. We, on the other hand, win on our own."

In a post on his X account, the national footballer shared the moments he showed his medal to the stands, stating, "For the first time, there is a Champions League medal in their stadium."
