WHO IS UFUK SARICA?

Ufuk Sarıca, one of the important figures of Turkish basketball, was born on June 13, 1972. He most recently served as the head coach of Karşıyaka, one of the Basketball Super League teams. Throughout his career, he wore the national jersey a total of 187 times, 98 of which were for the senior national team.

Playing in the small forward and shooting guard positions during his basketball career, Sarıca achieved many significant successes during his time at Efes Pilsen. Starting his coaching career as an assistant coach at Beşiktaş, Sarıca later rose to the position of head coach and also served as head coach at Anadolu Efes for one season. He took charge of Pınar Karşıyaka in the summer of 2012 and worked there for many years, signed with Beşiktaş in 2016, and returned to Karşıyaka in 2019. In January 2017, he was appointed as the head coach of the Turkish national basketball team.
