Saran Holding Chairman of the Board Sadettin Saran has issued a press statement. The statement included the following remarks:
“I have no connection whatsoever with unscrupulous individuals who are trying to profit from Fenerbahçe's election climate by using my name and that of my election team. Please do not believe anything regarding me or my team that you have not heard directly from me.”
HE WILL SUPPORT ALİ KOÇ
Sadettin Saran, who had previously announced his candidacy for the ordinary elective general assembly at Fenerbahçe, had announced that he was withdrawing in favor of Ali Koç, who declared his candidacy once again.
In his written statement, Saran had said, "As is known, regarding our club's upcoming ordinary elective congress, we had stated many times with our reasons that we would not be candidates if our president, Mr. Ali Koç, were to run, and that otherwise, we would aspire to manage our club together with our team.
Due to the fact that our president's decision regarding his candidacy had not been clarified over the long period that has passed, and considering the short time remaining until the elections, we were forced to make a press statement a few days ago. We had stated that if the President did not express a will to continue in office by Friday, May 10, we would unconditionally aspire to this sacred duty as of Monday, May 13."
Sadettin Saran, noting that they had met with President Ali Koç, had said the following:
"The President called us on Friday, May 10, at 16:00 to convey his request for a meeting, and as of 12:00 today, he honored us with his presence along with his fellow board members. First of all, we would like to thank the President once again in the presence of the public, both for his sincere visit today and for the appreciation he expressed regarding our stance, discourse, and actions throughout the process.
We would like our esteemed community to know that during this meeting, we held detailed consultations regarding the current situation of our club and reached an agreement on extremely important issues regarding its future. Our president sincerely spoke to us about his plans for the future of our club, and by explaining his goals in the race to serve Fenerbahçe, he clearly expressed that he wants to continue his duty at the head of our club for a successful, united Fenerbahçe that we all desire."
Stating that the interests of Fenerbahçe are above all kinds of personal ambition and ego, Saran had noted the following:
"We would also like to express our full determination not to surrender Fenerbahçe, the world's greatest sports club, to certain internal and external elements who want to use it for their own ambitions; who desire to manage it by dividing, fragmenting, and creating hostility, and even to the vulture culture that wants to derive power from the potential failures of our club.
On this occasion, we wish for the President's services to our club to continue increasingly with a brand new spirit and formation; together with our friends, we are withdrawing our candidacy in the upcoming ordinary elective congress in favor of our president, Ali Koç. We wish our elections to be beneficial to our community and Turkish sports, and we present our deepest respects."
