Following the match, famous comedian Şahan Gökbakar, known as a staunch Galatasaray supporter, drew attention with his criticisms on his social media account. Gökbakar stated, "We dropped 2 points to a few ordinary Black players, Tayfur Bingöl, Serdar Dursun, and Can Keleş. We lost 5 points to this Kocaelispor. The championship is about to slip away! This team cannot create chances. They cannot convert the ones they find. It's a shame." He then made a second post, saying, "Does your heart sink when you imagine these times 2 weeks from now? Pull yourselves together already."

These statements drew a major reaction from Kocaelispor fans, and the Hodri Meydan group published a harsh response targeting Gökbakar. In the fan group's statement, it was noted: "Belittling Kocaelispor's glorious crest and our players who sweat for this jersey with honor, using 'Recep İvedik' language, is not your place. Gökbakar, who confuses the insolence on the cinema screen with real life, should know this well: Kocaelispor is a community too great to be an appetizer for your cheap humor.
