Young Senegalese goalkeeper Cheikh Toure has tragically lost his life in Ghana. According to a statement from the Senegalese Ministry of African Integration and Foreign Affairs, Toure was the victim of a fraud and extortion gang.
LURED WITH TRANSFER PROMISE, KIDNAPPED FOR RANSOM
Cheikh Toure, who developed at the Esprit Foot Yeumbeul club and was expected to have a bright football career, was deceived with the promise of a trial match at a professional club. Toure fell into the hands of human traffickers who convinced him with this opportunity. A ransom was demanded from the footballer's family, but the requested money was not delivered. Consequently, Toure's life was taken.
NUMEROUS OFFICIALS IN GHANA TAKE ACTION
The body of Cheikh Toure was reported to the Senegalese Consular Services in Accra, the capital of Ghana. The body was delivered to the Ebenezer morgue in Tafo, in the Ashanti region.
