Serdal Adalı: I am not considering working with coach Şenol

In Beşiktaş, paths were parted with Head Coach Sergen Yalçın at noon today. Following the separation, Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı made statements to members of the press in front of the BJK Nevzat Demir Facilities.

Starting his words by stating that they met with Head Coach Sergen Yalçın as planned, Adalı said, "We came together to evaluate the past season and to discuss the plan and program we will make for the upcoming year. We had a bad season. Therefore, there were reactions. This is the issue that bothered the coach the most. These reactions will continue next year. The fans who are hurt will shout, and we have always met this with respect. When we talked about these, the coach also said that he was not in a position to withstand these reactions next year. Therefore, we talked mutually and parted ways," he said.

Stating that Sergen Yalçın did not want to continue his duty due to the reactions from the fans, Adalı said, "In the last 3-4 years, Beşiktaş, that is, our community is right, our fans are right. They are also right to show reaction. There is an effort in the middle, we are trying to get a good result as much as we can. When it doesn't happen, the reaction of this community, the reaction of the fans is very normal in my opinion. There is nothing I can say, 'Why did they shout?' They are right. There is an obvious situation. But if we are going to quit and leave every time there is shouting, every time there is a reaction, I am being sincere, Beşiktaş is on a very thin line. We are trying to overcome some things by walking on a part of it. This is the case both on the financial side of the business and on the administrative side. While there is such an environment, yes, I am not satisfied either. The coach is also not satisfied with the situation that has emerged. We are not going to give up on anything. We will succeed in this, we are obliged to succeed. Otherwise, if we also quit and leave, if we knew it would be good, the coach said the same thing, the easiest thing is to quit and leave. But we will continue the struggle. Honestly, you will ask, is there an alternative coach? I am being sincere, until noon today, such a separation did not even cross my mind. Stating that he will also hold a meeting with Serkan Reçber, who has been serving as the A Team General Coordinator since Sergen Yalçın took office, President Adalı said, "After you, I will meet with Serkan Reçber. Where necessary, we ask for the ideas in the minds of the coaches, we also ask for the players in his mind. We will have a head coach in a very short time. We have started from this moment on. Making statements regarding the compensation issue after Sergen Yalçın's departure, Adalı said, "The coach did not demand any compensation in any way. He did not even want his salary that we would pay in June. We will pay his May salary anyway. I offered the payment of his team. The kids have nothing. We will do something as a token of gratitude to them. We will reconcile and part ways," he said.

"I love coach Şenol very much. We worked together too. After coach Sergen, one shouldn't talk big about such things, but I personally am not considering working with coach Şenol.
