Former Beşiktaş manager Sergen Yalçın shared his views on the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo to the black-and-white team during a television program he attended. Yalçın drew attention by saying, "I wouldn't take Ronaldo even if they gave him to me for free."

Yalçın stated that modern football can be successful not just with star names, but with team play and tactics. Expressing that Ronaldo's playing style does not fit his own football philosophy, Yalçın said, "This business no longer works just with stars."
