Sergen Yalçın: 'There are no issues regarding payments'

 Süper Lig’s 34th week saw Antalyaspor lose 4-1 away to Fatih Karagümrük.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Antalyaspor Manager Sergen Yalçın said, "We are sad because we lost. It was a difficult game for us; we had very serious absences. After the game started, it was compounded by players getting injured. We have played a lot of matches in the previous periods, and the injuries have likely started to become apparent. This has started to put us in a difficult position with our limited squad. It is much harder to be down to 10 men while trailing. In the first half of the match, we had complete control of the game. We played with the ball, and we had a very serious advantage. We could have found a goal, but in these types of games, individual errors determine the results. Today, we made too many individual errors in defense and made positional errors. We will take the lessons we can from this match and prepare for the Pendikspor match as soon as possible. Hopefully, we will make up for this next week,” he said.

THERE ARE NO ISSUES REGARDING PAYMENTS

Regarding the economic situation experienced by the red-and-whites and the news reports, Yalçın made the following statements:

"Regarding payments; dirty information is circulating on social media. There is even false information circulating about me. Naturally, this saddens us. Please do not give credence to information that has not come out of my mouth. The things being written have nothing to do with me. There are no issues regarding payments; we are receiving ours. The players are 1-2 months behind. In football today, it is not very significant for payments to be 1-2 months behind, and the players know this. I don't think this poses a problem for the players. Some players may see it as a problem. That depends on their perspective. The players are relaxed, they are good in training. This is in the nature of the business regarding payments."

Sergen Yalçın said regarding his team for the remaining weeks of the league, "We will play ranking matches; it is not possible for the league's relegation line to reach 45 points."

Responding to a question about the performance of young player Emre Uzun, the 51-year-old manager replied, "Emre is a young player; we are gradually adapting him to the team. His tempo has also increased this season, and he is doing individual work. He is a hardworking and talented player. I think he will gradually come to the forefront. I will try to give him more time to play in the next matches. I think he will come to the forefront next year, if not this year."
