Servet Yardımcı's TFF presidential candidacy becomes official

WHO IS SERVET YARDIMCI?
Servet Yardımcı was born on December 26, 1957, in Rize. Having played amateur football for a period, Yardımcı took on management roles at Çaykur Rizespor. A graduate of the London Metropolitan University Department of Economics who also serves as the chairman of the board for his family companies, Yardımcı has served in various TFF administrations since 2008 and also served as TFF President for a time. Yardımcı, who was a board member during the Mehmet Ali Aydınlar era, took on the role of 1st Vice President in the team of Yıldırım Demirören, who took office in 2012. During the Nihat Özdemir era, Yardımcı was the person who managed the TFF's relations with FIFA and UEFA. As the first Turk to serve at the highest level in UEFA after Şenes Erzik, Servet Yardımcı has been a member of the UEFA Executive Committee for 7 years. During this process, he ensured that 1 Champions League final and 1 UEFA Super Cup final were held in Turkey, and that the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League draws were organized in Turkey for 2 consecutive years after Monte Carlo. He also led the efforts for the 2032 UEFA European Football Championship to be held in Turkey (in partnership with Italy).
WHEN IS THE ELECTION?
In a statement made by the Turkish Football Federation in April, it was announced that the TFF Ordinary General Assembly meeting, which had to be held by July 31, was decided to be held as an elective assembly on July 18, 2024, taking into account the Turkish National Football Team's qualification for the EURO 2024 Finals and the start and end dates of the tournament. The TFF presidential election will be held on Thursday, July 18.
