Shakhtar Donetsk President Akhmetov thanks Arda Turan and Turkey for their support

Shakhtar Donetsk President Rinat Akhmetov has thanked the club's head coach, Arda Turan, and Turkey for the support provided to Ukraine.

Akhmetov met with CEO Serhii Palkin, sporting director Darijo Srna, and head coach Arda Turan to evaluate the team's preparations for the new season, transfer activities, and the club's goals.

Speaking in a video shared on the club's X account, Akhmetov emphasized Arda Turan's role in Ukraine and delivered a message of gratitude.

''Like all Ukrainians, I thank you once again from the bottom of my heart for being here again, waking up to the sounds of missiles and bombs. You also represent the Turkish people. I know that Turkey supports us, that the Turkish people support us, and that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan supports us. I believe that Ukraine will maintain its determination and achieve a just and lasting peace. I don't just think this; I am certain that Ukraine will achieve a just and lasting peace. Thank you once again.''

Shakhtar Donetsk, which finished last season as champions, has also made a good start to the new season. The Ukrainian team has emerged victorious from the first three matches it played in the league.
