An unexpected snag has emerged in the Mario Lemina file at Galatasaray, which is continuing its transfer efforts. It was reported that the yellow-reds had reached an agreement in principle with the 32-year-old Gabonese midfielder for a 1+1 year contract with an annual salary of 3.5 million euros.
However, Lemina's demand for a signing bonus in addition to this agreement has caused a crisis in the negotiations. It was stated that the Galatasaray management is not keen on paying an extra signing bonus, and as a result, uncertainty regarding the player's future has increased.
It had been reported that head coach Okan Buruk previously said regarding Lemina, "We expect him to sign within a few days." Speaking after the friendly match played against Ümraniyespor, Buruk said that the player's situation has not yet been clarified and that negotiations are ongoing.
It is being evaluated that if Lemina does not take a step back from his demand, the negotiations could come to a halt. It was also learned that the club has started working on alternative names for the midfield in case of this possibility.
