Spain's World Cup victory celebrated in Palestine

Spain's 1-0 victory over Argentina in extra time in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, which secured them the championship, was met with joy in Palestine as well.

Palestinians took to the streets in the West Bank and Gaza to celebrate Spain's victory. Palestinian and Spanish flags were displayed during the celebrations.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas also sent congratulatory messages to King Felipe VI of Spain and Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.
