Spanish tennis player Aaron Cortes, who admitted to the charges against him, has received a 15-year ban from sports.

In a statement from the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA), it was noted that the 29-year-old athlete admitted to charges of match-fixing, betting on tennis, and bribing tournament officials for wildcards.

The ITIA has imposed a ban from sports until 2039 and a fine of 75 thousand dollars, with 56 thousand 250 dollars suspended, on the Spanish tennis player, who admitted to 35 charges covering the period between 2016 and 2018.

The statement indicated that the athlete, who reached a career-high world ranking of 955, fully cooperated with the ITIA and accepted the agreed-upon sanction.
