In its statement, the Antalyaspor Board of Directors emphasized that Turkish football must rise on the foundations of justice, effort, and respect, and included the following remarks:
"In the 8 weeks of the league that have passed, inexperienced referees have been assigned to our team 4 times, and a referee at the beginning of their career also officiated the Çaykur Rizespor match before the international break."
The statement noted that this situation has raised questions within the community, stating that while the development of young referees is valued, the balance of experience must be considered in critical matches.
The statement, which noted that the development of referees is supported, continued as follows:
"We support the development of young referees for the future of Turkish football and believe that these assignments are important for them to gain experience. However, considering the high level of competition in our league and the importance of the matches, we would like to emphasize once again that observing merit, balance, and fairness in referee appointments is of great importance for the reliability of football. At this point, we would like to state clearly that we invite the authorities responsible for these appointments to be more careful and diligent regarding the assignment of inexperienced referees to matches that are of critical importance, especially for our club. While we announce to the public that we will be watching the referee team that will officiate this week's match with care, we would also like to state that we trust our referee and their team, and believe that they will display a fair, courageous performance in line with the spirit of the game. We will continue to fight with all our strength on the pitch and work to ensure that football is the winner."
The Antalyaspor Board of Directors expressed their hope that the match to be played on Sunday will be a contest in line with the spirit of fair play where the deserving side wins, and invited the fans to support the team.
