Real Madrid player Arda Güler, who became a topic of discussion following the derby between Beşiktaş and Galatasaray, has made a statement regarding the matter.

Speaking to Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, the 19-year-old footballer said, "I liked the photo because they are my older brothers from the National Team, but as soon as I saw the caption underneath, I immediately withdrew the like. I would never want to hurt Fenerbahçe fans. They have a very special place for me. That is why I removed it immediately."

WHAT HAPPENED?

Arda Güler, who transferred from Fenerbahçe to Real Madrid, made a move on social media that became a major talking point after the Beşiktaş-Galatasaray derby.

Arda Güler, a favorite of the yellow-navy fans, liked the posts made by Galatasaray players Kerem Aktürkoğlu and Barış Alper Yılmaz regarding their derby victory.

Arda Güler's liking of Kerem Aktürkoğlu's post saying "Istanbul is yellow and red" and Barış Alper Yılmaz's post saying "Rejoice Cimbom, rejoice" quickly became a trending topic on social media.

Following the backlash, Arda Güler removed his likes from the posts by Kerem Aktürkoğlu and Barış Alper Yılmaz.
