EMS Yapı Sivasspor continues its preparations for the match it will play at home against Fenerbahçe on Monday, April 22, in the 33rd week of the Trendyol Süper Lig.
The training session was also attended by Club President Mecnun Otyakmaz, executives, fan groups, and former Sivasspor players.
Responding to questions from members of the press before the training, manager Bülent Uygun noted that their goal is to participate in the UEFA European Cup.
"THE POINTS WE WILL EARN WILL TAKE US TO THE UEFA CUP"
Uygun said, "The league is nearing its end. Everything is becoming more difficult. When we look at what we have achieved as Sivasspor during this process, we have really gained a very good momentum so far and we are continuing on our path in a very beautiful way. Our goal is to seize the opportunity to participate in the UEFA Cup again. The points we will earn in the remaining 6 matches will take us to the UEFA Cup. Therefore, our dream, our wish, and our desire is to move forward on the path to the UEFA Cup by winning the remaining matches."
"THE REFEREEING COMMUNITY WILL SAVE ITS OWN HONOR"
Upon a question from a member of the press regarding referees, Uygun said the following:
"I am one of the people who ensured that referees in Turkey became professional and who suggested they become semi-professional. We have always explained all projects for their development. We want a match to be officiated fairly, bravely, and by calling what is seen. We have an expectation that they will make all the correct decisions they see, regardless of the opponent's name or position. The refereeing community will save its own honor. On the other hand, our brothers who have played football in the past should also be able to interpret football in the VAR room from an institutional perspective. Everyone, including us, is waiting for a refereeing community that blends all of these in an integrated manner, is fair, honest, calls what it sees, interprets all positions correctly, and will increase the joy and taste of football."
Inviting fans to the Fenerbahçe match, Uygun said, "We want our fans to fill the stands and experience this excitement with us. We hope to run towards even better goals together next year. We thank them all."
