The Trabzonspor team bus, which was heading to the stadium before the match against Samsunspor, was subjected to a stone attack in the vicinity of the stadium. Trabzonspor stated that the incident was an organized attack.
Speaking to A Spor after the match against Samsunspor, Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan said the following:
"We should not attribute everything to the city of Samsun. Samsun is our neighboring city, our neighbor. We love the people of Samsun very much. We love our friends in the management, we have no problems. Such isolated incidents can happen in every city. It does not bind the Samsun community."
