In a statement released by Fenerbahçe, it was stated: "In accordance with the mutual agreement reached with our player Diego Carlos, the player has been granted permission to travel to Italy to undergo medical examinations and conduct transfer negotiations on behalf of Parma Calcio.
Following the completion of the medical checks and transfer negotiations, developments regarding the process will be shared with the public."
The 33-year-old Brazilian center-back was transferred from Aston Villa for 11.4 million euros.
The experienced defender spent last season on loan at the Italian team Como.
