Galatasaray has announced that it has filed an application regarding the events that occurred during the Süper Lig match against Adana Demirspor. The statement said, "The necessary application has been made by our club to judicial authorities in order to clarify the processes that took place before, during, and after the match."

"The necessary application has been made by our club to judicial authorities in order to clarify the processes that took place before, during, and after the match played between Galatasaray and Adana Demirspor on Sunday, February 9, 2025.

Galatasaray Sports Club will continue to stand by justice in Turkish football and work with all its might to be the best on the pitch and win there."


WHAT HAPPENED?

League leaders Galatasaray hosted bottom-of-the-table Adana Demirspor in the 22nd week of the Süper Lig. The yellow-red team took a 1-0 lead in the match with a penalty goal scored by Spanish striker Alvaro Morata. 

In the 30th minute of the match, Adana Demirspor players walked off the pitch.

After speaking with the referee, the Adana Demirspor players went to the locker room.

It was stated that Adana Demirspor decided to walk off the pitch to protest the penalty awarded to Galatasaray for a foul on Mertens.
