Statement from Galatasaray regarding the Ankaragücü match: 'We don't look at where the pitch is, we go and play!'

Galatasaray Second President Metin Öztürk made statements during a signing ceremony held for a sponsorship agreement.

Stating that they have no specific demands regarding the Ankaragücü match, Öztürk expressed that the decision will be made by the Turkish Football Federation. While responding to questions about the condition of the Eryaman Stadium pitch, he emphasized that the field must be suitable for the health of the athletes.

Öztürk said, "We don't look at where the pitch is. We go and play. The TFF will make the decision. We cannot have a demand for a match we will play away. It is essential that the pitch is suitable for athlete health. Two weeks ago, the pitch was a disaster. If a match is played there and an injury occurs to a player from either team, the responsibility lies with those who made that decision. We will go out and play," he stated.

Furthermore, regarding the social media post made by the yellow-red team following yesterday's Fenerbahçe match, he expressed that the rival team approaches things differently when they cannot win on the pitch and conducts perception operations. Öztürk said, "A championship is not a retirement bonus. There are 20 teams. At least 6-7 teams are in the relegation zone. Everyone is fighting for their lives. 5-6 teams are in the race for Europe. Our president has made the necessary statement. Two clear red cards were not given. In every subject and every profession, there are those who do their job well and those who do it poorly. Yesterday, there were two clear red cards not given and an interesting penalty. Our club is providing the necessary responses," he said.
