Statement from MKE Ankaragücü regarding events during the Bodrumspor match

MKE Ankaragücü, which faced Çağdaş Bodrum Spor at home in the Turkish Basketball League, has released a statement regarding the events that took place at the end of the match. The written statement read: "A public statement has become necessary due to the undesirable events that occurred during and after the MKE Ankaragücü-Çağdaş Bodrum match played in Ankara in the 18th week of the TBL. Bodrumspor player Burak Erol first turned to the Ankaragücü bench during a free throw and used profanity. The same player also directed abusive language toward our head coach, Halil Üner, after the match. 

Following this, our coach Halil Üner, who is one of the figures who has left his mark on Turkish basketball and is the most experienced coach in the TBL, reacted harshly to the opposing player due to the tension of the match. It was also seen during the broadcast that our head coach Halil Üner, who has made many material and moral sacrifices to contribute to Ankara and Turkish basketball, shook hands with the opposing coach and administrators after the match, but became angry and reacted when it was this player's turn. 

Ankaragücü is a great community. No one can insult the players and coaches of this community. Furthermore, we would like to remind the Bodrumspor President, who speaks of Fair Play, that his bodyguards attacked the Ankaragücü bench and issued threats during and after the match we played away," the statement said.
