Statement on Andre Onana from Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan

Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan said, "It was important to complete the first year of a 3-4 year restructuring with a trophy. Next year will be even better than this one. Trabzonspor's goal is the top."

Speaking to reporters after the Ziraat Turkish Cup final match where Trabzonspor defeated Konyaspor 2-1 at Corendon Airlines Park Antalya Stadium, Doğan said he congratulated the players and the technical staff.

Doğan expressed that they had won an important trophy.

Stating that this year was the first year of the restructuring, Doğan said, "It was important to complete the first year of a 3-4 year restructuring with a trophy. Next year will be even better than this one. Trabzonspor's goal is the top. Certain conditions must come together to walk to the top. These things don't happen just by saying them. Hopefully, we will do our homework well at the end of the season. We will address the shortcomings and we will have a better Trabzonspor watched next year."

Noting that the season was difficult for him personally, Doğan said, "It was difficult and troublesome. When we look at previous years, we can say it was very good. It ended well, it finished well. The transfer season is starting now. It is the most troublesome period. The period that fans and reporters love the most is starting. We will look at who is coming and who is going. We know the shortcomings. We will do everything in our power to address these shortcomings," he said.

"IF ONANA WANTS TO STAY, WE WILL FIND A SOLUTION"

Upon a reporter's question, "Will Onana stay at the club?", Doğan said, "The situation is clear. He is another team's player. The transfer fee paid is clear. Onana is happy at Trabzonspor. We will be in Europe next year. Therefore, the team needs a character like Onana; the city, the fans, and we all love him. Our coach also wants him. His harmony with the team is also very good. If he wants to stay mentally, we will find a solution regarding the figures," he expressed.

Saying, "They made the fans travel 1,250 kilometers and kept them waiting for hours outside the city," Doğan continued, "Despite all this, the fans gave a lesson in civilization to all of Turkey. I thank them very much. Hopefully, they will return carefully without anyone getting hurt. We love our fans very much. Hopefully, we will make them much happier next year," he said.

Pointing out that they will talk about Fatih Tekke's goals again at the beginning of the season and that Tekke's intention is always to be at the top, Doğan spoke as follows:

"It was a normal statement for the first year of the restructuring period. Trabzonspor must always be in the mix for the top. We will address our shortcomings. We will talk to our coach at the beginning of the season. We will give him our support to the end. We had transfer plans at a high level. We have to do what is necessary. We were very embarrassed before the fans. We need to fix this. We will make the best transfers we can."
