Statement on Mourinho from Hulusi Belgü, who is on Ali Koç's list: 'This job isn't just about naming names'

Fenerbahçe's ordinary elective general assembly meeting held between May 30-31 failed to reach a sufficient quorum. Fenerbahçe will reconvene between June 8-9 to elect its president for the new season.

The issue of the head coach, which caused competition between the two presidential candidates, has also been clarified. Jose Mourinho will occupy the head coach seat at Fenerbahçe in the new season.

Following the arrival at Fenerbahçe of Mourinho, who has previously won the three major European trophies—the Champions League, the UEFA Europa League, and the UEFA Conference League—Hulusi Belgü, who is on the board of directors list announced by current president Ali Koç, made a statement on the subject. Belgü included the following expressions in his statement made via his social media account:

Aziz Yıldırım, who spoke on the subject after Jose Mourinho's agreement with Fenerbahçe, used the following expressions: "The management, I think, has reached an agreement with Jose Mourinho. That side asked me, 'Sign it, if we win, we will work together, no problem,' I said. I didn't say anything like 'he is not a man of his word.' Did I say such a thing! They gave me a signal, and I said 'sign it.' What would have happened if I had signed it and they were elected? What matters is Fenerbahçe. What matters is Mourinho coming to Fenerbahçe!"
