Statements from Fatih Tekke following Trabzonspor's victory

In the 15th week of the Trendyol Süper Lig, Trabzonspor defeated Göztepe 2-1 away, moving into second place with 34 points. Following the match, head coach Fatih Tekke evaluated his players' performance.

Expressing his pride in the effort shown by his players, Tekke said, "We did not shy away from the battle on the pitch today. Thank God, we are continuing on our path. These boys deserve applause."

The head coach stated that they disrupted Göztepe's game plan from the last two years during the first half, adding, "Despite our shortcomings, we worked well and controlled the match. Simple mistakes we made in the second half increased the opponent's pressure. We were reduced to 10 men and had a shortage of full-backs and center-backs. We had to pull Onuachu back into defense."

Reiterating that his players deserve applause, Tekke said, "These boys are my players and I am proud of them. My room at the hotel faced the front, and there were kids waiting for us from morning until night. It is these players who give them hope. We have deficiencies, but they will improve over time."
