Beşiktaş Club has reacted to the comments made about captain Orkun Kökçü on the Yüz Yüze Futbol program broadcast on TRT Spor. The black-and-white club issued a statement, stating that Kaya Çilingiroğlu's remarks "exceeded the limits of criticism."

Beşiktaş, which 'strongly condemned' Çilingiroğlu, also emphasized referee decisions in its written statement. While highlighting that there have been blatant errors against Beşiktaş since the beginning of the season, the club stated that captain Orkun Kökçü, who defends the team's rights, was targeted despite this.

The black-and-white management stated that they expect commentators working at TRT to act within the framework of objectivity, equality, and professional journalistic ethical principles.

Beşiktaş's statement is as follows:

"We strongly condemn Beşiktaş commentator Kaya Çilingiroğlu, who made unfair accusations against our player Orkun Kökçü, far exceeding the limits of criticism, on the Yüz Yüze Futbol program broadcast on our country's distinguished broadcaster TRT Spor on September 13, 2026.

As has been the case in the past, whenever things are going well for our Beşiktaş, unfortunately, people like Çilingiroğlu make a futile effort to create a rift and disturb the peace of our community before our rivals do.

While the blatant errors that referees have made against us since the beginning of the season are known to all of Turkey, we leave it to the public to judge the intentions of Çilingiroğlu, who criticizes our Captain Orkun Kökçü, who defends our team's rights, instead of criticizing a referee who cannot even set up a simple wall.

As long as our community remains in unity and solidarity, the delusions of Çilingiroğlu and his ilk will take their place in the dustbin of history.

It is our most natural right to expect commentators working at TRT to act within the scope of objectivity, equality, and professional journalistic ethical principles.

Our player Orkun Kökçü has fought with every drop of his sweat since the first day he wore the jersey of our childhood love, Beşiktaş, and he will continue to do so from now on.

We will fight to the end against those who try to target our players, especially our Captain Orkun Kökçü, with unfair accusations.
