Harsh words from Süheyl Batum to Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek: 'Which of your statements are true?'

Galatasaray presidential candidate Süheyl Batum has made a post regarding the statements of Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek.

In his post on his X account, Batum, who asked, "Which of Mr. Dursun Özbek's statements are true?", also shared a video of the speech Dursun Özbek gave on April 27, 2024.

The statement made by Batum on his X account is as follows;

"Which of Mr. Dursun Özbek's statements are true? In a meeting with members of the Ankara Galatasaray Executives and Businessmen Association yesterday (May 15), Mr. Dursun Özbek used the following expressions, as reflected in the Hürriyet newspaper today (May 16):

'The Florya project is in the process as written, within the framework of the authority we received from the general assembly. No tender has been held so far. No contract has been signed. No agreement has been reached with any firm. If a tender is held, we will do it within the framework of the authority given to us by the general assembly.'

"500 MILLION DOLLAR LOSS"

It is significant and thought-provoking that Mr. Dursun Özbek, after we became candidates and explained the true situation regarding the Florya Project and the minimum 500 million dollar loss Galatasaray will suffer, now states that the process regarding the Florya Project has not even begun, contrary to his statements and declarations at the General Assembly on April 27, 2024, his previous statements, and what he expressed in member meetings held at his own invitation.

This change in discourse aims to mislead the will of the general assembly members, who are the conscience of Galatasaray, in the election to be held on May 25, and does not correspond with the actual situation and facts.

As can be seen in the video we attached, Mr. Dursun Özbek used very clear expressions at the Annual Ordinary Budget Meeting on April 27, 2024.

''WHAT IS HE RECEIVING AN ADVANCE FOR?''

In summary, Mr. Dursun Özbek stated that an advance would be received regarding the Florya project, and that with this advance, the debt to the Galatasaray Banks Association Consortium would be closed, allowing the newly incoming management to start their term with this debt wiped out.

If no tender has been held, no contract has been signed, and no agreement has been reached with any firm, what is Mr. Dursun Özbek receiving an advance for before the May 25 election? Since an advance is a prepayment received within the scope of a sales contract, under what conditions is this advance being received?

If no transaction has been established regarding the Florya Project, how will Mr. Dursun Özbek's statement that the 2.3 billion TL debt to the Banks Association will be paid off before May 25 and that the new management will be left debt-free be realized?

And again, if no transaction has been established regarding the Florya process, why did Mr. Dursun Özbek state at the General Assembly that the debt to be paid to the Banks Association by the election date of May 25 would come from the Florya Project?

Under what conditions can an advance be received for a job whose tender, contract, and firm are not determined, and can this debt be closed by May 25, 2024?

If this process is not taking place in line with the authority given by the General Assembly and with the will of the General Assembly, under whose will is the Florya project being carried out?
