Super Lig team files Zorbay Küçük application to TFF! 'Replay the match'

Kocaelispor has announced that if referee Zorbay Küçük receives a penalty over allegations of betting, they will apply to the TFF for a match replay.

Trendyol Super Lig team Kocaelispor has issued a statement following the referral of referee Zorbay Küçük to the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) over allegations of "betting." The club stated that Küçük officiated a Kocaelispor match this season, during which a clear penalty that should have been awarded in their favor was overlooked despite a warning from the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).

In its statement, Kocaelispor said, "As is known to our entire community and the football public, very serious refereeing errors were made against our club in the aforementioned match." It was also emphasized that the disciplinary process regarding Küçük is being closely monitored.

KOCAELISPOR'S 'MATCH REPLAY DEMAND'

The club stated that they respect the presumption of innocence and the right to defense, and that they will wait for the final decision of the TFF legal boards. The statement read, "In the event that it is concluded that the person in question has engaged in betting and the relevant boards decide that a penalty is warranted, the necessary initiative will be taken immediately before the Turkish Football Federation for the replay of the match officiated by said referee."

SAMSUNSPOR WON THE MATCH 1-0

Zorbay Küçük officiated the Kocaelispor vs. Samsunspor match played in the 2nd week of the Super Lig. In this match, which Samsunspor won 1-0, Kocaelispor's Samet Yalçın was sent off after receiving a red card. Kocaelispor announced that they consider the refereeing errors in this match to be serious and that they will continue to follow the process.
