In the German city of Hamburg, an individual was shot by police during an incident that occurred before the European Football Championship (EURO 2024) match between Poland and the Netherlands.

In a statement issued by the police, it was stated that during the events, according to initial findings, a fan threatened police officers with an axe, a Molotov cocktail, and a fire extinguisher, and that the fan, who was wounded as a result of the police using firearms, was taken under treatment.

In the statement, it was noted that during the incidents before the match, the police first used pepper spray to suppress the events and then fired warning shots into the air.

It was subsequently reported that the police, perceiving a threat against them, wounded one person with a firearm and that the wounded individual was taken under treatment.
