Tensions rise at Fenerbahçe congress: Standoff between Aziz Yıldırım and Hakan Safi supporters

On the first day of the extraordinary elective general assembly at Fenerbahçe, tensions flared between members supporting presidential candidates Hakan Safi and Aziz Yıldırım. The dispute, which began with chants, escalated into a brief scuffle, but was brought under control before it could grow further thanks to the intervention of security personnel and Sports Branch police units.

The extraordinary elective general assembly process at Fenerbahçe has begun with high activity. On the first day of the general assembly held at the stadium, members supporting presidential candidates Hakan Safi and Aziz Yıldırım began taking their places in the hall.

As groups supporting their respective candidates exchanged chants, a verbal argument broke out between the two sides in the following minutes. The tension that arose in a short time turned into a brief scuffle.

 

Members located near the scene, along with security personnel and Sports Branch police units, intervened in the situation. The tension was brought under control and ended before it could escalate into a larger incident.
